Retirement can be tough

Today is as wet outside as inside the pool: it rained all the way down to the Bay and it's still raining now, and more is forecast for the rest of the week. Met a new chum in the communal shower who had tattoos all over him, including one on his willy. "Why do you have 'WOOL' tattooed down there?" I asked him, "Are you a grazier?" He looked down on himself, "Ah, that one", he said. "No, I'm from Sydney. When I was younger, it used to read 'WOOLLOOMOOLOO'"

Afterwards, Padma dropped me off at Vinnies while she went shopping at ALDI and COLES and WOOLWORTHS (she always shops in alphabetical order). Good ol' Vic at Vinnies had a few more DVDs for me: Season 9 and 10 of "NCIS" (that's not an acronym, Des, but an initialism which stands for "Naval Criminal Investigative Service").

In Vinnies' book section I found a book which read on its backcover, "Frank lives with his cat Bill in a typically British town. He watches DVDs, spends his money frivolously at the local charity shop ..." Hey, stop right there! I thought. They've written a book about me! Okay, so my name isn't Frank, I'm not 81 (yet!), and I don't have a cat, the typical town we live in is not British, but as for the rest ... I'll let you know when I've finished reading it.

Now it's time for lunch, followed by a snooze. Retirement can be tough.
