When I was still a teenager in post-war Germany - with no idea why my contemporaries across the Channel were supposed to be gnawing on tea* - I had a girlfriend in Denmark, Pia Sørensen, whom I visited several times in the Danish bordertown of Kolding.
I emigrated to Australia before anything serious developed, for which I'm grateful as I still wonder how long it might have taken to dawn on me that this sign was nothing more serious than a speed check on a Danish road.
* Tee-nager, in German, literally means someone gnawing on tea.
