A piece of Nelligen history

FIRST TIME OFFERED FOR SALE IN 60 YEARS! says the advertisement that appeared on this morning's realestate website. And it continues, "This property exudes character and offers a unique blend of old-world charm. Set across the banks of the Clyde river this is a rare opportunity to acquire a classic Nelligen cottage. Built in 1931 and occupied by the original Ferry Master prior to the Nelligen bridge being built in 1964." Click here.

Whoever wants to buy this piece of Nelligen history needs deep pockets because the asking price is $999,000 to $1,150,000. The mind boggles!

Total deafness would also help as the property is right on the edge of the very busy Kings Highway. The noise would be only slightly worse than the torrents of water that come rushing down the hill on a rainy day.

Even the size of the property doesn't help because most of the 9340 square metres of land is on a separate parcel which is on the other side of the highway and steep enough to only attract mountain goats.

Still, such is the madness of the current real estate market that someone very deaf and very dumb may pay the million dollars-plus they are asking!

P.S. Only one day later, the price range has already gone up to $1,035,000 to $1,150,000. Quite a bit of inflation in just one day!
